Football Pathways - From Junior to Senior Footy at Mt Gravatt AFC

The Mt Gravatt Vultures have a strong junior player base, with over 300 players registered this season. The club provides a unique pathway for its players to be able to play AFL at whatever level suits their ability.

Catering for both male and female players, the Auskick and Superstars programs provide our youngest players (from the age of 5) the foundations for junior and youth footy, all the way to the highest level in Men’s QAFL and Women’s Division 1 and 2 teams. For those who don’t aspire to those levels, we also offer a more social (but highly competitive) QFA team that play Friday nights.

The photo above represents six (6) Mt Gravatt players who began their journey together as juniors, winning the 2014 McDonalds cup premiership (under 16’s). Earlier this year they debuted their first senior footy game against Broadbeach. Although the Women's Div 1 & 2 teams haven't been around as long, their player pathways are just as strong, with some of our U17 players debuting in a Women's game earlier this year (pic below).

This highlights the opportunities pathways the Mt Gravatt AFC provides for junior players. Now that our senior and junior clubs operate as One Club, this pathway is now a more seamless experience for our players. With a stronger definition and more accessible player pathways, we now have a stronger club and high performance teams than ever before.
